CHILD PROTECTION POLICY:- PAHAL it means “best interest of the child”

SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Programmatic approach to child protection aims to build a protective environment in which children can develop in the full respect of their fundamental right. PAHAL is committed to promoting the right to children creation of a protective environment of institution and also in behavior and awareness community on protective environment. Address all child protection issues and do work for child friendly services at all level

PAHAL acknowledges its expectation that its employees and other who work with PAHAL have children best interests the heart of their involvement with PAHAL.

This child protection policy is PAHAL statement of intent that demonstrates our commitment to safeguarding children from harm and makes clear to all in the organization and who come into contact with us(PAHAL) what is required in relation to the protection of children all issue and that child abuse or ignorance form in unacceptable to PAHAL.

  1. Plan vision for child protection

 Vision PAHAL aim to create “child safe” environment both internally and externally . where children are respected, protected , empowered and active in their own protection and where staff are skilled, confident, competent and well supported in meeting  their protection responsibilities.

  1. DEFINITION UNDER THE CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
  • A child is defined as any person under the age of 18 years
  • Child Abuse is defined as all forms at physical abuse, emotional ill-treatment, sexual abuse and exploitation.
  • Child protection, within the scope of this policy, is defined as the responsibilities, measures and activities.
  • The UNCRC also defines a child as a person under the age of 18 years at age.
  1. Scope of the child protection policy

The child protection policy, applies to everyone working for or associated with PAHAL. It encompasses the whole of PAHAL and includes without limitation.

  • Staff at all levels: – in office in field or else where.
  • PAHAL associates: – these include board members volunteers, community volunteers, sponsors, consultants and contractors. Also the staff or representatives at partner, organization.
  • PAHAL Visitors: – (e.g. media, donors, journalists, researcher etc) who may come into contact with children through PAHAL are also bound by this policy.

This is a mandatory requirement for staff failure to sop may result in disciplinary action. PAHAL staff must not

  • Disclose information that identifies sponsored families or children or make it available is in accordance with standard PAHAL policies and procedures.

Personal conduct outside work

  • We are committed to ensuring that staff and representatives apply high standards at behavior towards children within both their protection and their private lives.
