Child labour i.e. employing underage children for wages, is a serious national challenge in India. Factors such as poverty, illiteracy and social inequality push children towards labour. They are forced to work in dangerous and unhealthy conditions, which hamper their physical and mental development. Due to being deprived of education, they are also not able to get employment opportunities.

According to census 2011 data the number of child labourers in India is 1.01 crores, of which 56 lakh are boys and lakh are girls. 

PAHAL Multipurpose Social Services Organization has pledged to end the evil practice of child labour in this Amrit Kaal and has launched a comprehensive campaign; MISSION 365 for VIKSIT BHARAT @2047: “Free from child labour”
